Our teachers are all approved by the Education and Youth Development Bureau (DSEDJ) to teach English in Macao. Our team includes native and native‑level English speakers (CEFR C2) who are degree holders as well as having an internationally recognised teaching qualification such as a TESOL, TEFL, CELTA or Trinity CertTESOL.
Our teachers have a wealth of experience. They have worked in a range of settings including international schools, universities, and training centres across Asia, Europe, Africa and North America. Each teacher specialises in working with different learners from kindergarten through to university level as well as exam preparation and professional English.

John specialises in teaching young learners and has experience teaching all ages and proficiency levels. In a teaching career spanning over 18 years, John has mastered the skill to engage students by tapping into their needs and interests whilst having real-life conversations to stimulate natural language development. John has been involved in many projects, including the planning and preparation of event days, overseeing and coordinating the development of our ENGLISH CLUB syllabus and teaching on many projects, in both our Learning Centre and at local schools. Prior to joining us in January 2014, John taught English in Taiwan.

He has taught English to all levels of students ranging from elementary to university as well as corporate business training and classes for immigrants. Dean also served as an assessor for the Canadian Language Benchmarks, responsible for evaluating learners’ English language proficiency across listening, speaking, reading and writing dimensions using national standards. He encourages students to take an active role in helping to determine their own goals for studying English and believes in providing a great deal of feedback to learners to help them measure if these goals are being met.

Since moving to Macao in 2008, she has worked with English for Asia on a wide variety of projects at our Learning Centre, including Toddler Playgroup, phonics, general English classes, and a weekly community outreach “Storytime” programme. Kelly also co-authored the kindergarten curriculum for our after-school ENGLISH CLUB programme.
Aside from her work in our centre, Kelly has taught interactive English courses to students at a number of kindergartens in Macao. She is a popular teacher due to her adaptability, good classroom management, and engaging learner-centred lessons, which the students really enjoyed.

At our Learning Centre Mitch teaches students with a range of proficiency levels, ranging from Beginner to Advanced. Mitchell has a keen interest in politics and current events. He is also an animal lover, enjoys gardening and has a wide collection of model trains.

Since joining English for Asia in September 2025, she has taught communicative English lessons in kindergarten and primary schools in Macao. Her diverse experience in creative environments, both locally and internationally, has refined her ability to tailor instructional methods to meet the unique needs of each student, offering a fresh perspective with strong communication skills and a dedicated work ethic. During her teaching career, Carol developed reusable lesson plans for multinational learners aged 18 to 65, covering language proficiency levels from A1 to B2. She has taught online via Zoom and currently teaches comprehension and grammar to students aged 6 to 14.
