About us

Established in Hong Kong in 1997, Macao in 2001, and Shenzhen in 2003, English for Asia (EfA) is a teacher-operated organisation committed to providing a wide range of courses and services to improve standards of English and English teaching in the Asia-Pacific region. 

Our emphasis on personal service, competitive prices and exceptionally high academic standards enables us to offer leading English language solutions in the region. The name 'English for Asia' has developed into a strong brand which is readily associated with quality English courses. 

Company-wide  

• Over 250 dedicated, qualified and experienced native English-speaking teachers throughout the Greater Bay Area - all of our Macao-based teachers are formally approved to teach in the region by the Education and Youth development Bureau (DSEDJ).  
• Experienced provider of English courses to hundreds of thousands of students in over 1,000 kindergarten, primary and secondary schools in Hong Kong and Macao. 
• Contracted by the Education Departments in Hong Kong (EDB) and Macao (DSEDJ) to provide services including English courses, teacher recruitment, teacher training and translation services. 
• Lifelong Learning and Continuing Education Development Plan (CEDP) Partner with the DSEDJ. 
• Trinity College London National Approved Service Provider for Hong Kong, Macao and mainland China. 
   

Macao 

• Sustained growth in large scale programme delivery, increasing from approximately 2,300 teaching hours in 2021-2022 to 3,598 hours in 2025-2026 across Kindergarten, Primary and Secondary schools in Macao, reflecting strengthened capacity and expanding sector engagement. 
• Collaborated with more than half of Macao’s schools, reflecting strong institutional trust and sector‑wide engagement.

If you are a native English speaker (CEFR C2 level) with a recognised degree, an accredited TEFL/TESOL qualification (Ofqual UK NQF Level 5 or equivalent), and at least three years’ relevant teaching experience, we would be pleased to hear from you.
